Geoff Ross

Along the way, Ross, a mere 32 year old when the idea was conceived, has used a mixture of smart, quirky and sometimes irreverent marketing, which uses unexpected and ‘out of left field’ style advertising techniques, experienced advisers and investors, tight back-office systems and procedures, and an innovative approach which gives him an edge over many of his competitors.  His well-publicized success means he is highly sought after as a speaker and adviser within the Marketing and Liquor industries and not only in New Zealand.

Ross’s success is not beginners luck as a lightweight entrepreneur either.  He comes with solid credentials from Saatchi & Saatchi, Wellington, rated as one of the top ten advertising agencies in the world, where he was head of Client Service for eight years.  He also did stints in both Saatchi & Saatchi London and Los Angeles.  In addition, he was Managing Partner of the New Zealand branch of DDB for three years.

His creative approach is also reflected in the enthusiasm and drive of the young people he employs.  This energy, the flat structure of the company and the collaborative management style Ross favors, engenders a creative and productive working environment and the results speak for themselves.  From when the first bottle was produced in 1999, the growth in sales has gone from 100 cases per month to 100,000 per year, 70% of which are sold offshore
